Fee maths: The ₹5,000 annual fee has no spend-based waiver in the terms we read. It is 34% of the ₹14,500 the metro salaried profile earns before the fee. On our 6 profiles it nets from −₹1,808 (first card, light spender) to ₹37,400 (frequent flyer), equal to −1.0% to 2.1% of spend across the profiles. Without a waiver, the metro salaried category mix earns back the fee from about ₹25,500 a month of total spend.

After fees and caps, best-case redemption. Use your own spend.

Our take: Axis's page still lists the card with a ₹5,000 fee, but aggregators report that new applications have closed, so we show it as waitlisted. Earn is 2 EDGE Miles per ₹100 on most spends and 5 on Travel EDGE, direct airline and direct hotel bookings up to ₹2 lakh a month, with a mile valued at ₹1 on Axis's page. Miles milestones at ₹3 lakh, ₹7.5 lakh and ₹15 lakh also set your tier, which decides the lounge allowance (8, 12 or 18 domestic visits a year, guests included). There is no spend-based fee waiver. Reported changes to the transfer partners are not confirmed by any Axis document we found.

From the card's terms: strengths

  • 8 domestic lounge visits a year
  • Up to about 5% at partner merchants or via the bank portal, subject to caps

From the card's terms: limits

  • High fee with no spend-based waiver
  • Availability: waitlist
