Fee maths: The ₹12,500 annual fee is waived at ₹10,00,000 a year of eligible spend, about ₹83,300 a month. Of our 6 profiles, 1 clear it; on first card, light spender, metro salaried, family household, online shopper, rent-heavy you would pay the fee, which is 43% to 211% (₹5,914 to ₹28,771) of what those profiles earn before the fee. On our 6 profiles it nets from −₹6,586 (first card, light spender) to ₹57,942 (frequent flyer), equal to −3.7% to 3.2% of spend across the profiles. Without a waiver, the metro salaried category mix earns back the fee from about ₹34,000 a month of total spend.

After fees and caps, best-case redemption. Use your own spend.

Our take: An invite-only card for very high spenders. The ₹12,500 fee is waived at ₹10 lakh, and from 1 April 2026 HDFC requires ₹18 lakh of spend, or ₹50 lakh of relationship value, per financial year to keep the card. Earn is 5 points per ₹150 (3.33 per ₹100), worth about ₹1 a point only on SmartBuy flights and hotels, which carry 5X and 10X multipliers under a 15,000-point monthly cap. Grocery and utility earnings are capped at 2,000 points a month each, fuel and rent earn nothing, and lounge access is unlimited.
