Fee maths: The ₹499 annual fee is waived at ₹50,000 a year of eligible spend, about ₹4,200 a month. All of our profiles clear that, so the fee costs nothing on them. On our 6 profiles it nets from −₹454 (rent-heavy) to ₹7,412 (frequent flyer), equal to 0.0% to 0.6% of spend across the profiles.

After fees and caps, best-case redemption. Use your own spend.

Our take: The headline of 4 reward points per ₹150 (8 on airlines and travel agencies, and on spend above ₹2 lakh in a card year) looks generous, but Kotak's points are worth about ₹0.10, so the base return is only about 0.27%. The fee is ₹499 joining and annual (Kotak's listing also shows a ₹0 variant), waived at ₹50,000 of retail spend, and a milestone gives 10,000 points on ₹1.25 lakh spent every six months. Utilities earn only up to ₹35,000 a cycle, fuel and rent earn nothing, and rent carries a 1% fee.
