What the numbers show: HSBC Live+ Credit Card leads this list at ₹13,015 a year on groceries after its share of the fee (₹18,720 net on the whole profile), about ₹1,975 ahead of Swiggy BLCK HDFC Bank. This list is ranked on that category only, not on the whole profile.

How to read this ranking

Grocery results hinge on whether you shop in store or on a delivery app. HSBC Live+ pays 10% on groceries (shared ₹1,200-a-month cap with dining, shopping and utilities); the Swiggy HDFC cards pay 5% (ORNGE) or 10% (BLCK) only on Instamart; SBI Cashback pays 5% only when the purchase is online and 1% in store, and our model assumes 40% of grocery spend is online. On a ₹20,000-a-month grocery profile the HSBC cap is reached by groceries alone (₹20,000 × 10% would be ₹2,000, capped at ₹1,200). On grocery earnings alone the page shows HSBC Live+ ₹13,015, Swiggy BLCK ₹11,040 (40% assumed on Instamart), then Swiggy ORNGE and SBI Cashback at ₹6,240 each, and fifth-place IDFC FIRST Power+ is only partly verified.

Most cards cap or limit grocery earnings: ICICI Coral pays 2 reward points per ₹100 on groceries up to ₹20,000 spend per statement cycle (ICICI MITC), and HDFC Regalia Gold caps grocery points at 2,000 a month. If your grocery bill is large, check the cap before the rate.

Figures come from the issuers' own terms as recorded on each card page (sources and check dates are listed there). Estimates, not offers.
