Fee maths: The ₹500 annual fee is waived at ₹1,50,000 a year of eligible spend, about ₹12,500 a month. All of our profiles clear that, so the fee costs nothing on them. On our 6 profiles it nets from ₹3,370 (first card, light spender) to ₹30,936 (frequent flyer), equal to 1.0% to 3.2% of spend across the profiles. Without a waiver, the metro salaried category mix earns back the fee from about ₹3,000 a month of total spend.
After fees and caps, best-case redemption. Use your own spend.
Our take: The lower-cost sibling of BLCK: ₹500 a year, waived at ₹1.5 lakh, and 5% rather than 10% on Swiggy. Its 5% categories (Swiggy, Amazon, Flipkart and listed merchants) all share one ₹1,500 cycle cap. BLCK's extra 5% on Swiggy is worth ₹0.60 a year per ₹1 of monthly Swiggy spend, so Ornge comes out ahead below about ₹830 a month on Swiggy (₹500 fee difference divided by ₹0.60), before counting BLCK's higher ₹2 lakh waiver threshold.
From the card's terms: strengths
- Capped category-wide rate: about 5% on Amazon, Flipkart
- Up to about 5% at partner merchants, subject to caps
