Fee maths: The ₹999 annual fee is waived at ₹2,00,000 a year of eligible spend, about ₹16,700 a month. Of our 6 profiles, 5 clear it; on first card, light spender you would pay the fee, which is 8% (₹11,844) of what that profile earns before the fee. On our 6 profiles it nets from ₹10,845 (first card, light spender) to ₹36,540 (frequent flyer), equal to 1.7% to 6.1% of spend across the profiles. Without a waiver, the metro salaried category mix earns back the fee from about ₹3,000 a month of total spend.

After fees and caps, best-case redemption. Use your own spend.

Our take: HSBC lists 10% cashback on dining, food delivery, grocery, shopping and utility spends, but with one shared cap of ₹1,200 a month, plus 1.5% on everything else. That cap is reached at ₹12,000 a month of spend in those categories, so the card is strongest for light-to-moderate spenders. Amazon, Flipkart and Myntra are carved out at 1.5% from July 2026 (HSBC lists a 10% Myntra cashback among its welcome gifts until 31 October 2026; confirm what applies afterwards). Fuel earns nothing.

From the card's terms: strengths

  • Capped category-wide rate: about 10% on dining & food delivery, groceries, bills & utilities, other online shopping
  • 2 domestic lounge visits a year
