How to read this ranking
This list assumes you put about half of a ₹50,000 monthly salary (₹25,000) on cards across typical categories, and leaves out cards whose published minimum income is higher or whose annual fee is above ₹3,000. The same few cards recur across our persona lists (HSBC Live+, Swiggy HDFC BLCK, SBI Cashback) because each combines a broad capped bonus with a waivable fee, so treat this page as one view of the same ranking engine rather than independent advice.
HSBC Live+ leads at ₹15,250, about twice the next card, but at this spend its ₹1,200 monthly cap is not reached: the persona has about ₹10,800 a month of eligible groceries, dining, shopping and utilities (the cap needs ₹12,000), so all of it earns 10%. A profile heavy on groceries, dining and utilities favours HSBC Live+; a profile heavy on Swiggy favours the Swiggy HDFC cards; a profile with mostly online shopping favours SBI Cashback, which pays nothing on utilities. Use the calculator with your own figures.
Figures come from the issuers' own terms as recorded on each card page (sources and check dates are listed there). Estimates, not offers.
